Local SEO for sign makers
SEO for sign makers, so the people nearby find you.
Local search is mostly groundwork. Google needs to understand what you do, where you do it, and that other people vouch for you. Your site also has to be fast enough to be worth ranking.
For sign makers
What it means in your trade.
Sign customers search for the object: shop signs, shopfront signs, illuminated signs, van signwriting, vehicle graphics, window vinyl, pub signwriting, site hoardings, often with a town. The groundwork is a page for each type of sign with installed photos and useful detail, area pages only for places you fit, and a Google Business Profile carrying plenty of recent photos, because this is a visual trade and the profile is often the first gallery seen.

Image descriptions and captions help search engines understand what each photo shows. Reviews from businesses naming the type of sign reassure the next reader. The groundwork makes you easier to find and choose; where you appear is not something anyone can promise.

Built for sign makers
Made for your trade.
Every trade asks something different of its website. For a sign maker, these are the parts built in.
- Gallery pages organised by sign type, with finished work photographed where it is installed.
- A quote form that accepts photos, measurements and artwork, and asks for the date the sign is needed.
- A page explaining how the design visual works, with examples of visual and finished sign side by side.
- A fleet and vehicle livery page covering master artwork, scheduling and removal of old graphics.
- A short guide to landlord approval, conservation areas and advertisement consent, written for the customer.
- Your Google Business Profile with recent installation photos and categories that match your main work.
What it costs

There is no separate SEO invoice. The groundwork is part of the £1,400 rebuild, one-off, in about 14 working days.
The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions
The ones that come up.
How long before SEO does anything?
The technical work lands immediately; rankings move over weeks to months. Be wary of any promise of page one within a month.
Do you do SEO as a monthly retainer?
The groundwork is part of the rebuild. Ongoing care at £149 a month keeps it maintained. There is no separate SEO retainer.
Can the site help with printed items as well as signs?
If you offer banners, boards, window vinyl or exhibition graphics, each can have its own page with typical sizes, materials and turnaround. Repeatable items suit a price guide, while bespoke signs remain quote-based. Keeping them separate stops quick print enquiries crowding out larger signage work.
I do traditional signwriting as well as vinyl. Will both fit on one site?
Yes, as separate sections. Hand-painted signwriting and gilding attract a different customer, often looking for character on an older building, and deserve close-up photos and an explanation of the craft. Vinyl, print and illuminated work sit in their own pages. The contact route is shared, so enquiries still come to one place.
Do you write the copy, or do I need to?
Coltura writes it, from a short conversation about the work you want more of, your turnaround times and how you quote. You check it and suggest changes on a private link while the site is being built. Most sign makers find the photos take more thought than the words.
