Local SEO for architects

SEO for architects, so the people nearby find you.

Local search is mostly groundwork. Google needs to understand what you do, where you do it, and that other people vouch for you. Your site also has to be fast enough to be worth ranking.

For architects

What it means in your trade.

Homeowners search by project and question: house extension architect, loft conversion plans, architect for listed building, barn conversion architect, do I need planning permission for an extension, cost of an architect. The groundwork is a page for each project type you want, case studies with location and planning detail, useful explanations of the process, and a Google Business Profile with the right categories.

Reviews from past clients that mention the project and the planning result help people choose. What is realistic is being clearly described for the work you do in the areas you work. Detailed case studies and plain explanations give search engines and AI assistants something substantial to understand.

What is included

Exactly what you get.

Technical foundations: speed, mobile, crawlable structure, proper headings

Schema markup so your services, area and reviews are machine-readable

Google Business Profile set up and matched to the site

Pages for the places you actually cover

Titles and descriptions written for the person searching

Not included: paid links, ranking promises or impression-count reports. We report on enquiries.

Built for architects

Made for your trade.

Every trade asks something different of its website. For an architect, these are the parts built in.

  • Case study pages built from brief, site, constraints, planning route and outcome, using your drawings and photos.
  • Separate pages for the project types you want more of, such as extensions, new homes, conversions or commercial work.
  • A page explaining how you charge and what the client receives at each stage, with starting figures if you choose.
  • ARB registration and professional memberships stated clearly with a short explanation of what they mean.
  • An enquiry form asking about the site, project type, budget range, planning status and timing.
  • Structured information about services, areas covered and credentials, so search engines and AI assistants can describe the practice accurately.

What it costs

Included in the rebuild.

There is no separate SEO invoice. The groundwork is part of the £1,400 rebuild, one-off, in about 14 working days.

The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions

The ones that come up.

How long before SEO does anything?

The technical work lands immediately; rankings move over weeks to months. Be wary of any promise of page one within a month.

Do you do SEO as a monthly retainer?

The groundwork is part of the rebuild. Ongoing care at £149 a month keeps it maintained. There is no separate SEO retainer.

How do we reduce enquiries that are too small for us?

Say clearly what you do and do not take on, and ask about budget and project type on the enquiry form. A page explaining your usual project size, with a short note suggesting other routes for small jobs, helps people self-select. You can also give a minimum fee or a typical starting budget, which is often the most effective filter.

Should we explain the planning process on our site?

Yes, briefly and practically. Many homeowners do not understand the difference between permitted development, planning permission and building regulations, and a clear explanation helps them see where you fit in. It also shows your local knowledge, especially if you describe the kinds of issues that come up with the planning authorities you work with.

Is it worth being on design and home improvement platforms as well?

They can bring enquiries, but they show you among many other practices and you control little of the presentation. Your own site is where your case studies, approach and fees are explained in full. Most people who find you on a platform will look at your own site before getting in touch, so it needs to back up the impression the platform gives.
