Local SEO for builders
SEO for builders, so the people nearby find you.
Local search is mostly groundwork. Google needs to understand what you do, where you do it, and that other people vouch for you. Your site also has to be fast enough to be worth ranking.
For builders
What it means in your trade.
People looking for a builder type the job: “house extension builders near me”, “loft conversion company”, “single storey extension cost”, “garage conversion builders”. The groundwork is a page for each of those jobs, covering the stages, typical timescales and what affects cost, plus a clear statement of the areas you cover and pages for the places where most of your work is.

Your Google Business Profile carries a lot of weight for local searches, so it is set up as a service-area business with project photos and categories that match the work. Reviews matter, but builders hand over relatively few jobs a year, so asking every client at handover is the habit to build. Realistically this is a slow accumulation of trust signals.

Built for builders
Made for your trade.
Every trade asks something different of its website. For a builder, these are the parts built in.
- A separate page for each type of project you want more of, such as extensions, loft conversions or renovations, setting out the stages and what the homeowner handles.
- A project gallery arranged by job type, with captions saying what the house needed and how long the work took.
- An enquiry form that asks for project type, a rough budget band and timing, so you can decide which leads are worth a visit.
- A clear statement of the areas you cover and the smallest job you take on.
- Your Google Business Profile set up as a service-area business, with project photos and categories that match your work.
- The insurance, memberships and warranty schemes you hold, each explained in terms of what it means for the customer.
What it costs
Included in the rebuild.
There is no separate SEO invoice. The groundwork is part of the £1,400 rebuild, one-off, in about 14 working days.
The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions
The ones that come up.
How long before SEO does anything?
The technical work lands immediately; rankings move over weeks to months. Be wary of any promise of page one within a month.
Do you do SEO as a monthly retainer?
The groundwork is part of the rebuild. Ongoing care at £149 a month keeps it maintained. There is no separate SEO retainer.
What should a building firm say about insurance and building control?
Say what cover you hold, such as public liability and contract works insurance, and how you deal with building control on the jobs that need it. If you offer an insurance-backed warranty or belong to a trade body, name it and explain briefly what it gives the customer. Homeowners worry about being left with a half-finished job, and this is where they look for reassurance.
Can the website help me find subcontractors or staff?
A short page on working with you, saying which trades you use regularly, how you pay and who to contact, can bring in electricians, plasterers and labourers looking for steady work. It also tells homeowners you run an organised team. Keep it separate from the customer pages so it does not clutter the route to an enquiry.
Will a new website bring me more enquiries?
The number depends on your area, your prices and the season. What a rebuild changes is what happens when someone finds you: whether they can see relevant work, understand what you take on and send you a useful enquiry. For a builder that can mean fewer wasted site visits as much as more calls. Tracking on the new site shows which pages and forms produce enquiries.

Find out what your website is costing you.
A free Growth Audit, done by hand: a written, prioritised audit of your website, with the three fixes worth making first. It is yours to keep.
We take on a limited number of builds at once, so there is usually a short wait before a new one starts. Once yours starts, it is about 14 working days from agreed direction to launch.
