Local SEO for electrical contractors

SEO for electrical contractors, so the people nearby find you.

Local search is mostly groundwork. Google needs to understand what you do, where you do it, and that other people vouch for you. Your site also has to be fast enough to be worth ranking.

For electrical contractors

What it means in your trade.

Commercial buyers search for the service and the sector rather than a general electrician: emergency lighting testing, periodic inspection and testing, commercial EV charging, fire alarm maintenance, industrial electrical contractor. The groundwork is a page for each service you want to be considered for, stating the region you cover, with clear titles, clean structure and fast loading.

Your Google Business Profile still matters, because buyers look at it when they search your company name, so it is set up with the right categories, service areas and photos of real sites. Reviews from commercial clients are rarer and carry weight, so it is worth asking for them. Realistically, broad phrases are dominated by national firms; specific service and sector pages are where a regional contractor can build a presence.

Built for electrical contractors

Made for your trade.

Every trade asks something different of its website. For an electrical contractor, these are the parts built in.

  • An accreditations page listing each scheme you hold with numbers and renewal dates, summarised on the homepage
  • Case studies written as scope, programme and constraints, with photos of containment, switchgear and finished installations
  • A page for each maintenance service you offer, written for the person who holds the budget
  • An enquiry route that accepts drawings and specifications, with a named estimating contact
  • A careers and supply-chain page for electricians, apprentices and subcontractors
  • Your Google Business Profile set up for commercial electrical work, with the services and region you cover

What it costs

Included in the rebuild.

There is no separate SEO invoice. The groundwork is part of the £1,400 rebuild, one-off, in about 14 working days.

The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions

The ones that come up.

How long before SEO does anything?

The technical work lands immediately; rankings move over weeks to months. Be wary of any promise of page one within a month.

Do you do SEO as a monthly retainer?

The groundwork is part of the rebuild. Ongoing care at £149 a month keeps it maintained. There is no separate SEO retainer.

What should a commercial electrical case study include?

The type of building, what you installed, how long the programme ran and what made it difficult, such as working around an occupied school or a trading shop. Add photos of the containment, boards and finished work. If the client cannot be named, describe them by sector. Buyers are reading for scope and competence, so plain detail does more than praise.

Can the website help us recruit electricians?

It can make you easier to choose. A careers page showing the projects you run, the training and progression on offer, and a simple way to apply gives candidates the information they look for when comparing employers. A supply-chain page does the same for subcontractors, setting out what you expect on cards, insurance and paperwork before they get in touch.

How do we keep accreditations current on the site?

Each accreditation page lists the scheme, the number and the renewal date, so it is obvious when one needs updating. Under Growth Care, you send the new certificate when it renews and the page is updated for you. An expired certificate on a contractor's website is exactly the detail a careful buyer notices, so this is worth getting right.
