Google Ads for groundworks

Google Ads management for groundworks, for clicks that turn into calls.

Ads show quickly whether your website converts, and money spent sending clicks to a weak page is lost. That is why the site comes first and the ads come second.

For groundworks

What it means in your trade.

Ads rarely suit commercial groundworks, because developers and main contractors do not find subcontractors through paid search. They can work for domestic jobs such as driveways, drainage and extension footings when you want to fill gaps. Bid on those services in your area and exclude vacancies, courses, plant hire, materials and DIY searches.

Send each ad to the matching capability page with a form that takes photos or plans. Keep budgets small and review results monthly, since domestic groundworks jobs vary widely in value.

What is included

Exactly what you get.

Campaigns built around what people search when they are ready to buy

Negative keywords, so your budget goes on the searches that turn into work

A landing page that matches the ad, so visitors land on the offer they clicked

Conversion tracking, so you judge the campaign on enquiries

Budget set to what the enquiries are worth to you

Not included. Ad spend is paid to Google directly and is separate from anything Coltura charges. If your site is not ready to convert, we will say so before taking the work.

Built for groundworks

Made for your trade.

Every trade asks something different of its website. For a groundwork, these are the parts built in.

  • Capability pages for the work you want more of, such as foundations, drainage, driveways, kerbing or highways, each with photos and scope.
  • Projects arranged by sector, with the scope of work, programme and any constraints described.
  • An accreditations section listing the schemes you hold, with membership numbers where appropriate.
  • An enquiry form that accepts drawings and site plans and asks for location and programme.
  • A page for self-builders explaining what groundworks cover and what you need from them to price.
  • Your Google Business Profile set up with the correct categories and service area.

What it costs

£1,400, one-off.

The site comes first, at £1,400 one-off. Ad spend is paid to Google directly and is never marked up.

The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions

The ones that come up.

What should I budget?

Work backwards from what one job is worth. For example, if a typical job nets you £800 and one enquiry in three becomes a job, each enquiry is worth more than a business selling £40 services can spend. For some trades, ads do not pay at all, and we will tell you.

Can I run ads before rebuilding the site?

You can, but you will usually be buying traffic for a page that loses it. A free Growth Audit will tell you which of the two is costing you more.

Will procurement teams look at my website?

Often, yes. A website cannot replace a tender return, but assessors and main contractors commonly look a firm up while scoring a bid. A site that matches what you submitted, with the same accreditations, projects and capacity, backs you up. Out-of-date information or a broken site creates doubt at exactly the wrong moment.

What should a self-builder be able to find on my site?

What groundworks includes on a typical plot, what you need from them to price (drawings, engineer's details and any site investigation), how you work with their builder or architect, and rough timings. Self-builders are often nervous about foundations and drainage, and clear guidance makes you the obvious call.

Do I need a separate site for domestic work?

Usually not. One site with clear routes works: commercial clients go to capability and accreditations, homeowners go to driveways, drainage and extension footings. A homepage that is clear about both, letting each group go straight to its section, avoids confusing either without splitting your effort across two sites.
