Local SEO for hair salons
SEO for hair salons, so the people nearby find you.
Local search is mostly groundwork. Google needs to understand what you do, where you do it, and that other people vouch for you. Your site also has to be fast enough to be worth ranking.
For hair salons
What it means in your trade.
Salon searches split in two. Many are general and local, such as hair salon near me or hairdressers open late, and those are decided largely on the map by your Google Business Profile, distance and reviews. Others are specific: balayage, curly hair specialist, colour correction, hair extensions, bridal hair, often with an area. Those are where a dedicated page on your site gives a search engine something clear to match.

The groundwork is a complete profile with every service listed, a page for each service you want more of, your area stated plainly, and a steady flow of reviews that name the stylist and the service. That gives the salon a fair chance in the searches that matter to it. It does not fix a position, and nobody honest will say it does.
What is included
Exactly what you get.
Technical foundations: speed, mobile, crawlable structure, proper headings
Schema markup so your services, area and reviews are machine-readable
Google Business Profile set up and matched to the site
Pages for the places you actually cover
Titles and descriptions written for the person searching
Not included: paid links, ranking promises or impression-count reports. We report on enquiries.
Built for hair salons
Made for your trade.
Every trade asks something different of its website. For a hair salon, these are the parts built in.
- A price list built from your real structure: services, stylist levels and from prices, with a line on what changes the figure.
- A new-client route that explains the skin test and consultation before linking into your booking system at the right service.
- A profile for each stylist with their level, specialisms and a small set of their own before and after photos.
- Separate pages for your higher-value work, such as bridal or extensions, each with its own enquiry form asking the questions you need answered.
- Your Google Business Profile completed with services, categories and photos, and connected to the matching pages on the site.
- Events recorded on booking clicks and enquiry forms, so you can see which pages start bookings.
What it costs
Included in the rebuild.
There is no separate SEO invoice. The groundwork is part of the £1,400 rebuild, one-off, in about 14 working days.
The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions
The ones that come up.
How long before SEO does anything?
The technical work lands immediately; rankings move over weeks to months. Be wary of any promise of page one within a month.
Do you do SEO as a monthly retainer?
The groundwork is part of the rebuild. Ongoing care at £149 a month keeps it maintained. There is no separate SEO retainer.
Can the site sell gift vouchers?
Yes, usually through the voucher feature your booking system already has, linked from a clear page on the site. Voucher sales cluster around Christmas and Mother's Day, so the page can be brought forward in the navigation at those times and quietly moved back afterwards. Nothing about how you redeem vouchers at the desk needs to change.
Do I need professional photos for a salon website?
For hair, consistent phone photos of real clients, taken by the same window in daylight with their permission, are more convincing than a staged shoot. A professional shoot pays off for the salon interior and the team, because those images are used for years across the site and your Google Business Profile.
How soon could the new salon site be live?
About 14 working days of build once the direction is agreed and your price list, team details and photos are in. The free Growth Audit comes first and takes around 48 hours. You see the site on a private link while it is built, so every stylist can check their own profile before launch.
