Local SEO for plumbers

SEO for plumbers, so the people nearby find you.

Local search is mostly groundwork. Google needs to understand what you do, where you do it, and that other people vouch for you. Your site also has to be fast enough to be worth ranking.

For plumbers

What it means in your trade.

Plumbing customers search in two ways. Urgent ones type the problem and where they are: plumber near me, burst pipe, blocked toilet, no hot water. Planned ones type the job: bathroom fitter, unvented cylinder installation, water softener fitting. The groundwork is a page for each service you want, with the areas you cover written in plain text, sensible titles and descriptions, and the technical basics done properly.

Much urgent traffic is settled on the map before anyone reaches a website, so your Google Business Profile is set up with the right categories and services, linked to the matching pages and kept consistent with the site. Reviews that describe the actual job help most. Realistically, this makes you a credible candidate in your own patch. In bigger places, national firms will still compete for the broadest searches.

What is included

Exactly what you get.

Technical foundations: speed, mobile, crawlable structure, proper headings

Schema markup so your services, area and reviews are machine-readable

Google Business Profile set up and matched to the site

Pages for the places you actually cover

Titles and descriptions written for the person searching

Not included: paid links, ranking promises or impression-count reports. We report on enquiries.

Built for plumbers

Made for your trade.

Every trade asks something different of its website. For a plumber, these are the parts built in.

  • Separate routes for urgent repairs and planned installs, so the leak caller and the bathroom customer each reach the right page
  • A tap-to-call button that stays on screen on mobile, with your real working hours stated beside it
  • A page for each service you want more of, such as bathrooms, unvented cylinders or leak detection, with the areas you cover and how to book
  • Your Gas Safe number and the kinds of gas work you are registered for, placed where customers look for it, if you do gas work
  • Your Google Business Profile set up with the right primary category, services and areas, and linked to the matching pages
  • Call and form tracking, so you can see which enquiries the website produced

What it costs

Included in the rebuild.

There is no separate SEO invoice. The groundwork is part of the £1,400 rebuild, one-off, in about 14 working days.

The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions

The ones that come up.

How long before SEO does anything?

The technical work lands immediately; rankings move over weeks to months. Be wary of any promise of page one within a month.

Do you do SEO as a monthly retainer?

The groundwork is part of the rebuild. Ongoing care at £149 a month keeps it maintained. There is no separate SEO retainer.

Should I have a page for every town I cover?

Only where you have something specific to say, such as work you have done there or different response times. Dozens of near-identical town pages add little and read as padding. For most plumbers, a clear coverage list on the site and on the Google profile, plus strong service pages, does the job better. We agree the structure with you before anything is built.

What happens to the search visibility my current site already has?

Before anything changes we check which pages currently earn visits. Those are kept or redirected to their replacements, so the value carries across rather than being lost. At launch the old addresses are redirected, every form and phone link is tested, and we watch the site closely for a month afterwards to catch anything that slips.

Can customers send me photos of the problem through the site?

Yes. The enquiry form can take a photo, so a customer can show you the dripping valve, the old cylinder or the bathroom they want replaced. It helps you judge whether a visit is worthwhile, bring the right parts and give a rough idea of cost before driving out. The form stays short so people still finish it on a phone.
