Local SEO for restaurants

SEO for restaurants, so the people nearby find you.

Local search is mostly groundwork. Google needs to understand what you do, where you do it, and that other people vouch for you. Your site also has to be fast enough to be worth ranking.

For restaurants

What it means in your trade.

Diners search for a cuisine, a dish or an occasion as often as they search for a restaurant name: Sunday roast, tapas, somewhere for a birthday meal, restaurant with a private room, dog-friendly pub food. The groundwork is a menu on real pages that search engines can read, a page for each occasion you want more of, and your Google Business Profile completed with categories, photos, hours and the booking link.

Reviews carry a lot of weight for restaurants, so the site should make it easy to leave one and should show a few in context. What is realistic is being clearly described and easy to choose once someone is comparing places. A site that states its facts plainly gives search engines and AI assistants less to guess about.

What is included

Exactly what you get.

Technical foundations: speed, mobile, crawlable structure, proper headings

Schema markup so your services, area and reviews are machine-readable

Google Business Profile set up and matched to the site

Pages for the places you actually cover

Titles and descriptions written for the person searching

Not included: paid links, ranking promises or impression-count reports. We report on enquiries.

Built for restaurants

Made for your trade.

Every trade asks something different of its website. For a restaurant, these are the parts built in.

  • Your menus written as real web pages, split into lunch, dinner, Sunday and set menus, with dietary markings you can keep up to date.
  • Your existing booking system placed on the site so the table can be booked without leaving your pages.
  • A page for private dining, group bookings and celebrations, with capacities, set menu options and a short enquiry form.
  • Your Google Business Profile set up with the right categories, hours, menu link and booking link, matching the website.
  • Photos arranged to show the room, the bar and the food, compressed so the pages still load quickly on mobile data.
  • Structured information about cuisine, price range, hours and location, so search engines and AI assistants can describe the restaurant accurately.

What it costs

Included in the rebuild.

There is no separate SEO invoice. The groundwork is part of the £1,400 rebuild, one-off, in about 14 working days.

The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions

The ones that come up.

How long before SEO does anything?

The technical work lands immediately; rankings move over weeks to months. Be wary of any promise of page one within a month.

Do you do SEO as a monthly retainer?

The groundwork is part of the rebuild. Ongoing care at £149 a month keeps it maintained. There is no separate SEO retainer.

We rely on review sites. Does our own website still matter?

Review sites are where many diners find you, but they show everyone else alongside you and you do not control what appears there. Your own site is the one place where the menu, the hours, the booking button and the story of the restaurant are exactly as you want them. It is also what Google and AI assistants read to check the facts about you.

Should we show allergen information on the website?

It helps. Many people booking for a group are checking on behalf of a guest with an allergy or a dietary need, and they want reassurance before they book. The site can mark dishes clearly and explain how the kitchen handles allergens, while pointing people to speak to staff on the day. The details come from you, since you know your kitchen.

Can we sell gift vouchers through the website?

Yes, where you already use a voucher service or payment provider, the site can link to it or hold its purchase button on a dedicated page. Vouchers sell mostly around Christmas, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day, so the page can be brought forward on the homepage at those times. If you do not sell them online yet, the page can take enquiries.
