Local SEO for opticians
SEO for opticians, so the people nearby find you.
Local search is mostly groundwork. Google needs to understand what you do, where you do it, and that other people vouch for you. Your site also has to be fast enough to be worth ranking.
For opticians
What it means in your trade.
Patients search for eye test near me, optician open Saturday, children's eye test, dry eye clinic, myopia management, contact lens fitting, home eye test, or a frame brand with a place. The map carries the general searches, driven by your Google Business Profile, distance and reviews, and the chains are strong there.

The specialist and brand searches are where an independent's own pages count. The groundwork is a complete profile per practice, a page per specialist service and main frame brand, clear NHS and private information, and GOC details visible. That gives the practice an accurate, well-structured presence in the searches that suit it. It does not decide where it appears against national chains.
What is included
Exactly what you get.
Technical foundations: speed, mobile, crawlable structure, proper headings
Schema markup so your services, area and reviews are machine-readable
Google Business Profile set up and matched to the site
Pages for the places you actually cover
Titles and descriptions written for the person searching
Not included: paid links, ranking promises or impression-count reports. We report on enquiries.
Built for opticians
Made for your trade.
Every trade asks something different of its website. For an optician, these are the parts built in.
- A clear explanation of NHS and private examinations, eligibility and fees, written for the UK nation you practise in.
- A page for each specialist service you want more of, with who it suits, what the appointment involves and the fee.
- Frame brand pages with photos from your own shelves and a price range, checked against each supplier's rules on images.
- Team profiles with GOC registration for optometrists and dispensing opticians.
- Online booking linked from your practice system, and your Google Business Profile completed with accurate categories and hours.
- Tracking on bookings, calls and enquiries, so you can see which pages lead to appointments.
What it costs
Included in the rebuild.
There is no separate SEO invoice. The groundwork is part of the £1,400 rebuild, one-off, in about 14 working days.
The free Growth Audit comes first either way, so you find out what is actually wrong before you spend anything.

Questions
The ones that come up.
How long before SEO does anything?
The technical work lands immediately; rankings move over weeks to months. Be wary of any promise of page one within a month.
Do you do SEO as a monthly retainer?
The groundwork is part of the rebuild. Ongoing care at £149 a month keeps it maintained. There is no separate SEO retainer.
Can the site show the equipment we have invested in?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Explain each piece in plain words: what it does in an examination, who it is used for and whether it costs extra. Avoid suggesting any scan will catch every problem; describe it as part of a thorough examination instead. Real photos of your own consulting room help far more than manufacturer images.
We have two practices. How should the website handle that?
One site with a page per practice: address, hours, parking, team, services and booking for each, connected to its own Google Business Profile. Patients find the right door, and you keep one brand and one set of fees to maintain. If services differ between the two, each page says so plainly.
What happens to the site when frame collections change?
Frame brand pages need new photos as collections change each season, and ranges you stop stocking need removing. On Growth Care you send the new photos and details, and the pages are updated within a fair monthly allowance. A brand page two collections out of date sends people in for frames you no longer have.
